Alarm Systems in East Kent

What's involved in rewiring?

In the UK, nowhere is ever free from crime. Day by day, burglary rates increase and you are more at risk than ever. East Kent Electrical recommends our high-quality Burglar Alarm Systems as the best way to protect your home, possessions, family, or business. Our top seller is East Kent Electrical’s Alarm Sounder (Bell Box) which scares off 80% of burglars. As soon as the break-in is detected, the activation of the bell encourages the intruder to flee quickly. If the burglar is determined, it alerts occupants so that they can act. Our systems come with a mobile phone app that allows you to monitor the system easily.

Standard grading system for Alarms:

  • Grade 1 Low Risk
  • Grade 2 Medium Risk
  • Grade 3 High Risk

What's involved in rewiring?

Commited to Quality

East Kent Electrical is provided with clear guidelines by British Standards that we comply with every installation. BS 4737 EN 50131 PD 6662 embraces the installation, design, and maintenance of Alarm Systems. In terms of monitored systems, the relevant ACPO Policy applies.

Here at East Kent Electrical, we take full responsibility for each stage of your Burglar Alarm. This includes the site survey, design, installation, and ongoing maintenance. Our broad range of different products ensures we meet and exceed your security requirements.

The Technologies

When discussing your alarm system options, we will explain the technologies, benefits, and cons of each in depth to ensure you make the correct decision.

If you decide to purchase a really basic Audible Only system from a DIY store, it won’t be very effective or guarantee strict safety measures. However, selecting a qualified alarm installer, like us, ensures that your installation, set up and maintenance will be to extremely high standards.

Two Technologies: Wired & Wireless

Wireless

If you are looking for a simpler, less disruptive installation, we recommend wireless alarms. There is no need to lift carpets, run cables under floorboards, move furniture, or drill holes through walls. This generally reduces the installation cost compared to a hard-wired system, however, the equipment is more expensive. Also, wireless alarms are more portable, so they can be removed for decorating or moving houses.

Inside each device are specific batteries that power it. These typically need to be replaced each year.

Wireless systems can only reach British Standards EN50131 / PD6662 Grade 2 (Medium Risk). This should be stated on your quotation.

Wired

Hard wired alarm systems our other, more sturdy, and reliable option. These require less maintenance but have to be installed by a specialist to hide the cables, thus increasing the installation cost.

The installation of a hard-wired alarm system should meet with British Standards EN50131 / PD6662 and conform to the NPCC Intruder Alarm Policy. Ensure this is documented with the Risk Grading in your quotation. The systems available cover all the grades.

Normally, we set your hard-wired Alarm when you leave and if an intrusion is detected it will activate the sounder which will ring for 5 minutes unless entry is made through the correct entry route and the deactivation code entered within 25 seconds. When you go to bed, it can be part set so that the downstairs only will activate.

Wired

The Wired Alarms we usually install in your home are set when you leave.  If it detects an intrusion the sounder will activate and ring for 15 minutes unless entry is made through the correct entry route and the deactivation code entered within 25 seconds. However, they can be part set when you go to bed so that the downstairs only will activate. These can also be linked to our monitoring station so that the key holders and emergency services are alerted upon activation. The systems are cabled throughout the property so we must come and do a survey to provide our pricing.
